Implementation of sustainability related programmes in New Zealand PTEs: A case study of New Zealand Institute of Studies
Studying sustainability in business schools has become a new trend among tertiary students. However many students feel learning business sustainability is a challenging task. This paper describes the results of a questionnaire survey administrated to investigate the learner’s experiences on studying sustainability and series of semi-structured interviews were conducted among business course facilitators in a private training establishment in New Zealand. The results of the questionnaire were analysed using factor analysis on SPSS platform. The interview transcripts were qualitatively analysed in informal workshops. The study found the key reasons why learners want to study sustainability related business programmes and the major challenges faced by learners while studying these programmes. Finally the study suggests best practices for better learning experience of sustainability related programmes in New Zealand PTEs.
