Course overview

This programme is for students who wish to study general business management in an English language environment to facilitate their entry into the workforce in New Zealand or overseas.

Course description

This course will provide graduates with a broad structured insight into the theoretical and practical dimensions of organisation and management in order to add value to a business or organisation at both a strategic and operational level and contribute to increasing productivity in these organisations through the application of sound management practices. This qualifcation builds on the knowledge and skills acquired through a Level 6 qualifcation in business or management, and/or work experience in a management role.

Programme structure

The programme requires students to achieve 120 credits in 8 papers from Level 5, 6 and 7. Students must complete the two semesters in order to qualify.

Semester 2

703 Innovation and Entrepreneurship

705 Strategic Management and Planning

Graduate pathway

Students may apply for work visa after completion of the course. The course will enable them to acquire roles in the following areas:

  • Banking
  • Sales
  • Retail Management
  • Business Analyst
  • Auditing or Evaluation
  • Entrepreneurship
    Or
    Student may apply for advanced study at universities.

Entry requirements

  • Have attained the age of 18 years at the time of admission; and
  • Have successfully completed at least a Level 6 qualification in Business or Management
    OR
    Have successfully completed at least a Level 5 qualification in Business or Management with a minimum 2 years work experience
    OR
    Have completed a Bachelor Degree in any field
    OR
    2 years’ work experience in a management capacity
  • International students must have an IELTS score of 6.0 overall with no band score lower than 5.5; or equivalent.

Study pathways

Continue with a Master Degree in universities.
