EAP (English for Academic Purposes) description:

This EAP class is developed to prepare students for their academic studies in all aspects of the English language. The class will focus on enhancing the skills and abilities students will need while studying in an academic context. These include, report writing skills, essay writing skills, note-taking, presentation skills, referencing, and many other essential techniques.

EAP 1

English for Academic Purposes Level 1 is equivalent to English at Pre-intermediate level or lower. This class will strongly focus on the general and academic skills necessary for the student learning process: e.g. essential writing, reading and listening skills and an emphasis on the total understanding of the English grammar system. On successful completion of EAP 1 students will be able to join the EAP 2 class.

EAP 2

English for Academic Purposes level 2 is equivalent to English at intermediate level or higher. This class will be focussed on specific academic skills at a more advanced level which includes: structured writing skills note-taking, formal presentation skills, reading techniques and essential grammar and vocabulary to sustain understanding at this higher level.

EAP 3

English for Academic Purposes level 3 is equivalent to English at upper Intermediate level or higher. This class prepares students for the rigours of an academic lifestyle or for international examination. Reading and writing skills are honed and students obtain individual tutoring.

First certificate in English description:

The FCE is known as ‘First Certificate in English’ or “Cambridge English”. It is a test of general English language ability run by Cambridge ESOL, the FCE classes focus on the essential skills needed to obtain this internationally recognized certificate. As well as the other Cambridge exams such as the CAE ( the Certificate of Advanced English) and CPE (the Certificate of Proficiency in English), the qualification is widely recognized in European countries by employers, and increasingly recognized in Asia and South America. It is used as the evidence of English-language ability acceptation due to it’s widely recognition to be an efficient and effective measurement of English ability, especially for those students who are seeking to enrol in the Diploma level courses. A placement test must be done to for students to entry this course.

Advanced English description:

The advanced English is a course for high achievers in the academic and professional world. This course is for students who already have a very high level of English but want to develop their fluency, accuracy and vocabulary range as well as a deeper understanding for English expression and idiomatic use. The course is highly communicative, enabling the student to debate and discuss global and national issues of interest with specific focus on using learned vocabulary and skills and fine-tuning pronunciation. Students at this level will no longer need to rely upon translation but may need to focus on complete accuracy in the use of key linguistic structure and practice. This course allows students to make the final step to obtaining complete and natural fluency.
