This qualification is intended for learners of English as an additional language, who attend NZQA approved programmes delivered in Aotearoa New Zealand or off-shore. The qualification is at a level comparable to the Common European Framework or Reference (CEFR) B2. It allows the kiwi community, employers and educational institutions to recognise the level at which the graduate can use English for general, workplace or academic purposes.
This certificate meets the English requirements for most vocational and undergraduate programmes and specialized fields of study requiring New Zealand Qualifications Framework level 5 or lower. Graduates of NZCEL Level 4 will meet the academic entry criteria for most vocational and undergraduate programmes and specialized fields of study requiring IELTS 6.0 or lower.
Hold a NZCEL (Level 3) (Academic) or equivalent.
